One of the more common errors that you may encounter with your Xbox is one of the many ‘drive open’ errors that report your drive is open, when obviously it isn’t. When this happens, you should run through the basic troubleshooting list below, but most of these  things are painfully obvious. Regardless, here are a few free things you can try:

• See if you disc is dirty, or try another disc
• Reboot the unit, and removed saved games
• Clear your system cache
• Disconnect and then reconnect your hard drive
