someone helpe me!!! my 360 wont read any discs

i repair xbox 360 , just did one yesterday same problem . it did play dvd , does yours? rob

won’t play games or DVD’s will read cd’s.
I put a disc in and it barely try’s to read it.
It make a noise and then say’s open tray

i am having the same problem.I am having a problem with reading the 360 games.The original games work but the 360 games wont.It doesnt even sound like it is trying to read.dvd still work too..just not the 360 games

where do i get an av encoder chip to try and replace it myself?

my xbox has three red lights and i know that means hardware faliure and i did’nt do anything it just stopped working could you please tell me how to fix that i’m pretty smart with computers i built my own and my brothers is really good so if

i got a hd tv 3 days ago.
The picture was fine for 3 days and today i lost the picture and the sound is still ok.
i went and got a new cable. and still no picture.

Just replaced my motherboard and dvd drive will not read games. It tells me to install in a xbox360 console.I can watch dvd movies with no problem. How can I fix this?

Really bad noise coming from the disc tray and games etc wouldnt play, sent it away to be fixed and now the screen keeps freezing and its only 5 months old-HELP

When I put in a game or DVD it says unplayable disc

The “Open Tray Issue”, I found out is due to faliure of your the disc drive and you would have to replace it with a new one. I had the same problem and my 360 wasn’t under warranty, so I opened it and found that the disc drive won’t spin the disc.

my xbox360 has 3 flashing red lights. i know this means that there is a hardware failure. if you could please tell me how i could fix my xbox360. then i would really appreciate it. thank you

My Xbox 360 won’t read disks.. continuously stating “Open Tray”. It doesn’t even make a sound like if it loading/reading any disk (CD, DVD, Games…Nothing) Anything anyone knows about to maybe fix it myself… Xbox customer support has less knowledge then I do about the issue.. Sad but true.

if u have lost your picture butsound is ok, try switching around the red white and yellow cable (forgot the name sorry) or check if there in the right spot. probably no help but im just upset cause my 360 wont read the discs either and i dont wanna buy anything for it unless we really have to and i just rented transformers and it sits without any play, its saddening!

“open tray issue” tried a lazer cleaner device…did not work…it worked one night…i woke up the next day and it did not work….i got it to play a game about twice and i continued to play until i went to bed…now on the third day..it wont read any disc except for adio…how do i fix this by my self.

If your drive gives you the ‘Please Insert… 360 console’ the chances are your laser is screwed and that goes for it not even ’spinning up’ aswell.

Mine was out of warranty, so bought a laser for £10(from China) replaced the old one, now every disc plays again.

my xbox always goes to a black screen when i insert a disc then it goes to a white screen that says to play this disc put it in a xbox 360 console. I’ve tried it with all four of my xbox 360 games and i get the same results. I NEED HELP!

What does unplayable disc mean (every disc:movies, games, music) and how do you fix it?

My xbox 360 always got the ring of death ( the 3 red lights) for hardware failing and what i did was took apart the whole xbox and cleaned it the dust was just unbearble then set it up again staretd playing i never got it again then after about a week and a half of playing it again my xbox just now wont even attempt to read any discs whats so ever usually you can hear the xbobx trying to read it but it wont even try to read it you put the disc in and it automaticly just says unplayable disc to every disk i put in cds dvds and xbox and xbox 360 games any1 know how to fix that msg me back or email me my emails bloodyskulls197@yahoo.com

im going to try and buy a new laser see if that works but if its niot that and you know a way to fix plz msg me so i dont spend the money

Okay, I’m having an issue too. First it started with the wheels and cogs and such in my game tray not being in place due to an accident, I dismanteled the whole console and fixed that, the tray will open and close with use of the button as it should, however! My console won’t read discs, the small wheel in the center, next to the IR eye won’t spin the disc so it can be read properly, I can -make- it spin, but it never continues for long. What can I do to fix this, or where can I go where I won’t be spending 150$ plus just to get a simple repair or nothing at all?

my xbox wont read discs all it says is open tray and bairly reads them when you put them in can someone please help me im really annoyed

My tray wont open or close at all. It shows as opening and closing in the dashboard. I have taken it apart, can’t see why the tray won’t move. The laser will flash twice but there is no initial spinup. This happened after I over heated (2 red lights) and the disk drive flew open with halo 3 spinning. I pushed it closed and left the xbox for a couple hours. Came back and no power in the dvd tray. Any suggestions? I can log on to the dashboard no problems.
